I’m giving away some of my books. I love reading and I collect books. But then I need to free up some space to prepare for a new tenant in our condo. Our little bundle of joy will be arriving about eight months from now.

Most of these books I’ve read and I have my notes already. Some of these were given to me but I didn’t, and I don’t, have time to read them.

Anyway, here’s the deal. You have to be quick. If you’re interested in the books below, just list the books you want in the comments section. There should only be a maximum of two books per person. Since your comments will be time-stamped, I will know who made the requests first.

This is just an initial list of the books I’m going to give away.

  1. The Guinness Book of Why by Donald McFarlan and Ian Bishop
  2. E=mc2: A Biography of the World’s Most Famous Equation by David Bodanis
  3. The Code Book: The Secret History of Codes and Code-breaking by Simon Singh
  4. Vittorio The Vampire by Anne Rice
  5. Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
  6. Archimedes’ Revenge: The Joys and Perils of Mathematics by Paul Hoffman
  7. Working with Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman
  8. The New Lifetime Reading Plan by Clifton Fadiman and John S. Major
  9. The Human Brain: Its Capacities and Functions by Isaac Asimov
  10. Who Says Elephants Can’t Dance? By Louis V. Gerstner Jr.
  11. After the Funeral by Agatha Christie
  12. Guide to Earth and Space by Isaac Asimov
  13. The Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud
  14. Man and His Symbols by Carl G. Jung
  15. How to Get Rich by Donald J. Trump
  16. Cashflow Quadrant by Robert T. Kiyosaki

After I identify the winners, I will inform them via email on how they can claim their books. The winners can also consider donating any amount to the children’s choir we’ve formed at the Espiritu Santo GK site in Proj. 8, Quezon City. Let me just emphasize that the donation is not mandatory. My main purpose here is to get rid of my books.

Here is a picture of the children’s choir during the birthday of a good friend of mine. It was their first performance.

Em, my wife, is the conductor. I'm the photographer and grumpy critic.

We formed the GK children’s choir to help the kids develop their musical skills. We don’t get paid for this. Any amount you donate will be used for their snacks, costumes and photocopies of music pieces.

Enough said. I will just check my blog on Monday. Good luck and happy reading.

Oh, by the way, if you become filthy rich by reading books 15 and 16, let me know. A mandatory donation will be required for the GK choir and the Anthony Alcantara Foundation.
